What is OneCedi?
OneCedi is a Ghana-focused platform where people choose a listed community or student-support project and contribute an exact amount through an independent payment provider.
Is OneCedi an investment or savings app?
No. OneCedi does not offer deposits, savings, loans, interest, ownership or financial returns. Points and badges are recognition only and have no cash value.
Why does OneCedi start with GH₵1?
The core action is intentionally small and clear. A normal one-time tap can be GH₵1. Larger options may also be available. The exact total is always shown before payment approval.
Why can a recurring charge be GH₵2?
When offered, the daily or weekly plan moves two GH₵1 notes per billing cycle so the recurring payment remains practical. The amount and frequency are shown before authorisation, and a user can cancel future charges.
Do I need a member account to contribute?
No. Anonymous giving can be available with a Ghana mobile number and no public profile. Membership is optional and is used for private receipts, points, badges and an impact history.
Who processes the payment?
An independent regulated payment provider processes card or Mobile Money checkout. OneCedi does not receive or store card PINs, CVVs or Mobile Money PINs.
Does OneCedi hold a wallet balance for me?
No. OneCedi is not a stored-value wallet. A contribution is authorised for the selected project through checkout, and OneCedi stores the transaction result and reference needed for accounting and support.
How are projects reviewed?
A project page should identify the purpose, target, responsible project lead and evidence plan before live collection. Proposed or review-stage projects are labelled and may not accept live payments.
What proof will I see?
Depending on the project, proof may include supplier receipts, progress photos, delivery confirmations, reviewed totals and public record references. Personal beneficiary information is limited and close-ups require consent.
Can I request a refund?
Yes, in the situations described in the Refund Policy—for example a duplicate or unauthorised charge, a technical error, or a project that cannot proceed. Contact support promptly with the transaction reference, never a payment PIN.
How do I cancel recurring giving?
Contact support before the next billing date with the registered phone number or transaction reference. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not automatically reverse a charge that has already completed.
Are contributions tax deductible?
Not unless OneCedi expressly provides a valid receipt confirming eligibility under applicable law. A standard payment receipt is not a tax-deduction certificate.
Does OneCedi work with children or students?
Some projects may benefit children or students, but payments and member accounts are for adults aged 18 or older. Images and personal stories involving minors require appropriate institutional and parent or guardian consent.
